We had been learning and exploring different aspects of Diwali during the week and on Thursday 4^th November, we had a celebration together in the hall. With special thanks to Mrs Patel (Aeva in Starfish), Mrs Thanabalasingam (Sayon in Starfish) and Mrs Kasaragode Shenoy (Aaradhya in Turtles) for organising such a fun event. The children heard about different ways Diwali is celebrated and had a go at dancing with (imaginary) diya lamps to traditional music. They then looked at costumes and jewellery, made rangoli patterns and tried some delicious food which is often served during Diwali. To complete the celebration, the children were given a bindi to wear home. What a great experience we all had!
