Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of a busy term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the hard work and great learning that has taken place. This term has been filled with many exciting activities and learning opportunities. It has been lovely to see the progress the children have made and everyone should be proud of their achievements.
A highlight of this term was the school choir's performance at the Epsom and Ewell Schools Music Festival. I am incredibly proud of our choir members, not only for their outstanding performance but also for their exemplary behaviour. Well done to all involved!
We also had a BET safeguarding review this term, and I am pleased to share some of the positive feedback we received. The review highlighted that safeguarding is effective at our school, with many strengths, including:
- A strong safeguarding ethos throughout the school.
- Pupils feel protected and safe and can confidently discuss our safeguarding systems.
- There are trusted adults in the school who listen and act upon pupils' concerns.
- Pupils can identify a trusted adult with whom they can communicate any concerns, and these adults take their concerns seriously.
Thank you all for your support throughout this term. I wish you a happy and relaxing break and look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday, 22nd April.
Warmest regards
Mrs Creasey

Thank you, you are amazing !
Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Amazathon challenge organised by the PA. We have received many wonderful books for our school library and curriculum support. Once catalogued, the children will be able to bring them home to share.
We also have many unreturned library books. Please check at home over the holiday for any that belong to our library. Many thanks!

Year 1 Explore the World of 3D Art!
Year 1 children have been creating 3D structures during Art and design lessons this term. Using their imaginations, they have crafted 3D paper sculptures using a variety of tube towers. They have honed their skills in rolling and folding paper. Using these techniques, they transformed flat sheets of paper into captivating 3D pictures.

Punctuality
Ensuring your child arrives at school on time is crucial. Late arrivals can cause missed learning and anxiety. If you need support with getting your child to school on time, please speak to your child's teacher.
Informing Us of Absences
You must notify the school of any unplanned absences by 9:00am on the first day by calling or emailing attendance@mead.surrey.sch.uk.
If we don't hear from you, we will:
- Contact you or emergency contacts until we confirm your child's safety.
- If no response, the admin team will inform the Senior Leadership Team. For vulnerable pupils, external agencies may be contacted or a home visit conducted.
- If no response from a home visit, we will work with other agencies (e.g., children's services, police) to ensure your child's safety.
For more details, please refer to our attendance policy.

" Run, run as fast as you can! " "You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man! "
The nursery children were buzzing with excitement as they discovered a gingerbread man hiding in their role-play area! This delightful surprise has added an extra layer of fun to their learning about "The Gingerbread Man" story. The children have been enthusiastically retelling the tale, acting it out, and even making their very own gingerbread men. Their creativity and engagement have brought the story to life, making this learning experience both educational and engaging.

Attendance
Whole School Attendance currently stands at 96.3 %.
Attendance is strongly linked to how well pupils achieve; for this reason, the attendance of all pupils is closely monitored. Unless your child is unwell, the expectation is that your child attends school every day.

We continue to see a number of parents parking illegally on Cudas Close during drop and pick-up times. Eber Kington, our local Residents Association County Councillor for Epsom and Ewell has been in touch with the school regarding this problem. He has informed us that parents and the school can report parking issues by email to:
SurreyParkingEnforcement@nslservices.co.uk or by telephone via their contact centre on 0330 175 5930
Please help us keep our families and children safe by parking considerately and abiding by the parking regulations
